Imagery

Pictures are worth a thousand words quoted many times before . What does imagery have to do with education? Everything is the answer. Especially when it comes to the way society has made a turn to the digital era.  Now instead of identifying words with letters and using pens and papers have gone out the window. More students these days rely on images in order to learn. Society has moved to computers, videos, Internet and other sources . The material provided on these tools use text, photos, video and graphics to depict the content of the subject provided. These tools kept learning intriguing. Most children enjoy playing video games , using their tablets and surf the Internet. Using technology in the classroom will spark the interstate of the students and students can enhance their media and information literacy by using technology.

  1. That is completely true. It reminds me of the last class we had when we had to take images to tell a story with as little words as possible. We have to begin making our students literate within pictures. It is a new type of literacy that can be more difficult to people because everyone can view something differently. Its a very interesting point that you are making.

    1. Hi Melanie and Jasmine,
Have you ever read the book with no words? It is called Tuesday and is by David Wiesner. It really shows what you are talking about is true.
      Best,
